A perfect combination of seasonal temperatures and temperate days resulted in this glorious display of beautiful fall foliage in 2019. We had just purchased our ideal retirement home in our favorite Arizona town. Since both of us were still working our careers, we were traveling back and forth from our main home to Sedona on weekends and holidays. This spectacular vision awaited us in our backyard on one of these jaunts.

The combination. of brilliant colors and backlighting from the setting sun resulted in this magnificent capture. Never again have we seen this degree of color variation and brilliance since this time. It was truly a rare event, and I’m glad I took the opportunity to snap this photo.

This is one of my most popular images, and I’ve sold multiple copies printed both on glossy paper and on metal. The metal brings out the depth of the colors and showcases the brilliance of the light. It is one of the images I’ve selected to hang in my own home.
